We are very excited to announce that Aphrodite’s Organic Café will be moving to a new location January 23rd! Don’t worry though, we won’t be going far, in fact, we’re moving just across the street! After 12 years in the neighbourhood, Kerkis Greek Taverna owners Bob and Julie have retired, and as much as we love our funky current digs (complete with crooked floors and cramped bathrooms!), we have reluctantly come to the realization that the infrastructure is no longer able to meet our growing needs.
The new space across the street is able to offer more seating, heat in the winter, air conditioning in the summer, a beautiful southern exposure 26 seat heated patio, free underground parking, and comfortable washrooms (woohoo!), including full wheelchair accessibility, to name just a few of the exciting new amenities.
For our hard working, dedicated staff we are able to provide a full state-of-the-art kitchen, serviced by natural gas rather than electricity (helping us reduce our ecological footprint), more cold storage for our growing need of fresh organic vegetables (and healthy sustainably-raised poultry and meats), and the additional space to move and create delicious nutritious food in safety and omfort.
We are also extremely excited to announce that we will be sharing part of the new space with The Green Moustache, a local (Whistler) organic juice bar! Nicky Richer and her team will be transforming the former lounge/bar into a mecca of healthy fresh cold-pressed organic juice (and other tasty raw and vegan treats) which will also be available to our customers in the café!
The Pie Shop, it will be staying where it is for now, but once the restaurant has comfortably settled in, we will be renovating the vacated corner space and moving the bakery over to continue our pie production and allow additional seating in our new warm and funky organic coffee shop. We will also be expanding our selection of organic/gluten free baking to meet this growing need in our community.
We hope you share in our excitement! We have been spending the past few weeks painting and decorating to bring the classic warmth and comfort of the old space over to our new digs. We will be closing after brunch on Sunday, January 18th and then re-opening Friday, January 23rd in the new location. In the meantime, it’s business as usual at both the café and pie shop, so until January 18th please continue supporting local organic farming here at Aphrodite’s!

Made from Gelderman’s Farm free-range pork, our signature crust and served with a drizzle of pure maple syrup! If you haven’t tried it yet, be sure to get in here soon! With the fast approaching early darkness, we have returned to our Winter Hours. We are now open from 9 am to 9 pm, everyday except Friday and Saturday, when we keep the kitchen open until 9:30 pm!
The waiting is over! Fresh organic peaches have arrived from the Okanagan to our doorstep! Be sure to come in for a freshly baked slice of delicious organic peach pie while supplies last!
You asked for it, you got it! Starting May 1st, our kitchen will be serving our hot and delicious menu until 9:30 pm and we will be serving pie until 10:00 pm 7 days a week! Come and join us after the show!
